Venue Spotlight – The Chapel

As we head toward the screening season for Vendetta 19, we couldn’t be more excited by the diversity of venues we have been able to secure. The third screening date will be held in Burwood East, at an impressive venue, with state of the art screening and sound equipment called The Chapel.

As one of the larger venues we will be screening at, we are truly hoping that you will all round up your posse’s and bring a group to this event where we will have not only the screening but will also have Q&A with lead actors including feature actor, Sam Warren, playing the role of Claude Taylor in the pilot episode, Roy Maloy, playing Valentine Keating, Tom Levi playing Squizzy and Shylie Arzouan playing Dolly Gray.

Tickets are essential and we highly recommend buying in advance to avoid disappointment.

VENUE SPOTLIGHT – Geelong Gaol Museum

As we head towards the screening of the Vendetta 19 pilot, we couldn’t think of a better location to screen it than the Geelong Gaol Museum! Not only for the fact that the pilot episode was filmed at the Geelong Gaol, giving our audience a chance to sit and watch it in the exact location where it was actually filmed, but to also give them the immersive experience of seeing it for the first time in an actual, in tact, operational Gaol from the 1900’s. We have been tremendously lucky to have the support of the Geelong Gaol, as a world class tourist attraction, and we can’t wait to see you all at the Geelong Gaol for the public screening premiere on 12 October!! Tickets are selling fast, so get in quickly!!

THE MUSIC OF THE VENDETTA – Vicky O’Keefe

Today me make the third and final announcement about our incredible musical artists who are contributing their talents and tunes to make Vendetta 19 everything it can be! We couldn’t be more excited to announce that the film composer for Vendetta 19 will be none other than Australian cabaret, rock and and soul icon, @Vicky O’Keefe!! As the only daughter of rock’n’roll legend Johnny O’Keefe, Vicky has been surrounded by music her entire life, and has made an amazing career for herself. With three albums, including our personal favourite “Fallback Girl”, Vicky will be contributing the underlying score to Vendetta 19, composing and binding all scenes together with her amazing skills and talent. Please make her welcome by liking this post, and make sure to get your tickets asap!!

THE MUSIC OF THE VENDETTA – The Highstool Prophets

Paying homage to the fact that so many of the lead characters In Vendetta 19’s earliest seasons and episodes Irish immigrants to Australia, we knew that we had to have a significant presence of Irish music in the pilot episode. But I didn’t for a second think we had a chance of attracting somebody with the size and presence as the Highstool Prophets. Celebrated around the world for their incredibly energetic sound and style, the Highstool Prophets have been blazing a trail on the Irish scene with a string of sold out shows, TV appearances and new music releases. We couldn’t be more grateful to them for contributing music to a key and final scene in the pilot. Please make sure you head over to their page and give them a follow as thanks for the incredible generosity.

SUCH AN AMAZING DUO

In the upcoming pilot of Vendetta 19, we have found some truly amazing on-screen partners, and one that should be watched with anticipation is that of Tom Levi, playing Squizzy Taylor, and Daniel Sultana playing William Edwards. As mates who were imprisoned together, Squizzy and Edwards both had female partners who worked together at Dolly Gray’s bordello, and both were imprisoned together in 1908.

Don’t miss the screening of Vendetta 19 in select cinemas this October to December.

BEHIND THE SCENES

There are so many professionals of so many different backgrounds on Vendetta 19, and one of the key players is without question, Deb Robinson, head historian of the Geelong Gaol Museum and host of historical true crime podcast Locked up with History, has been an irreplaceable participant of the making of Vendetta 19! Her wisdom, her historical and cultural advice has all helped to make this project so much more authentic and accurate than it would have been otherwise. Make sure you follow Deb, and enjoy her other historical true crime work on serial killers and murder stories.
